We suggest the study of Father Matteo Ricci’s voyage, which began in 1583 and ended in 1598. The journey was interrupted many times by long rests, caused by the well-known historical events of his life. The route followed the rivers and canals which, in the past, formed an important internal communication network - the fastest and best one for heavy loads compared with land transport.
